ELDON™ Blood Grouping Kit

Find out your blood group in just a few minutes

Curious about your blood type? The ELDON™ Home Blood Grouping Kit provides a simple way to identify your ABO and RhD blood group using a small finger-prick blood sample.

The kit uses the established ELDONCARD® blood grouping system, which has been used for many years in professional and point-of-care blood typing. The test identifies whether your blood group is A, B, AB or O, together with your Rhesus (RhD) status – positive or negative.

What's included?

Each ELDON™ Home Kit contains everything required to perform one blood group determination:

• ELDONCARD® 2511
• Single-use sterile safety lancet
• Pipette/dropper
• Alcohol swab
• Four ELDONSTICKS
• ELDONFOIL
• Illustrated instructions

The card contains dried antibody reagents that react with specific antigens on your red blood cells. The resulting agglutination pattern allows your ABO and RhD blood group to be identified.

How does it work?

The process is straightforward:

1. Prepare
Read the instructions carefully and prepare the ELDONCARD and supplied equipment.

2. Finger prick
Use the supplied sterile safety lancet to obtain a small drop of blood.

3. Apply the blood
The blood is transferred to the four reaction areas on the ELDONCARD.

4. Observe the reaction
The blood reacts with the dried antibody reagents on the card. Where the relevant antigen is present, visible clumping (agglutination) occurs.

5. Identify your blood group
The pattern of reactions is compared with the supplied interpretation guide to determine your ABO and RhD blood group.

Fast and convenient

The ELDONCARD system is designed to be portable and easy to use. It requires no refrigeration and can be stored between 5°C and 37°C. The manufacturer states that results are available in approximately two minutes.

Your blood group

The test can identify one of eight common ABO/RhD combinations:

• O Positive
• O Negative
• A Positive
• A Negative
• B Positive
• B Negative
• AB Positive
• AB Negative

The ELDONCARD can also be retained as a physical record of the test result.

Important information

The ELDON™ Home Kit is intended as a self-test for informational and educational purposes. It must not be used as a substitute for laboratory blood grouping, pre-transfusion testing, or as the sole basis for medical or treatment decisions.
